Assistant Merchandiser

Buying and Merchandising:

Job Title: ASSISTANT MERCHANDISER

Job Definition:

  • Support the Merchandising Team in the planning, trading and product potentialisation in line with the Business Strategy

Duties:

  • Report into the Merchandiser
  • Manage new store stock packages
  • Manage intake and distribution
  • Update and maintain merchandise planning & forecasting tools e.g. WSSI
  • Check, communicate and monitor daily/weekly sales highlighting risks & opportunities
  • Propose mark-downs & promotions under direction
  • Compile weekly sales figures
  • Evaluate best seller performance and report accordingly
  • Deputise for Merchandiser in their absence

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Merchandise Assistant / Allocator
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Strong communication and networking skills at all levels
  • Previous experience managing and developing junior members of staff
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Ability to take initiative and respond quickly to change
