Assistant Buyer
Buying and Merchandising:
Job Title: ASSISTANT BUYER
Job Definition:
- Supporting and working closely with the Buyer alongside the Merchandising team to develop a creative and balanced product range in line with Business Strategy.
Duties:
- Manage critical path on a weekly basis to ensure all deliveries run to time
- Collate information on prices
- Attend supplier meetings with Buyer
- Actively contribute to supplier meetings and initiate any developments
- Identify gaps to potentialise the range
- Undertake lab dip and fabric approvals
- Attend & contribute to fit sessions
- Report back to Buyer following competitor shop visits
- Delegate work to Buyers Admin Assistants and offer support in their development
- Deputise for Buyer in their absence
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Buyers Assistant
- Commercial awareness and creative eye
- Strong communication and networking skills at all levels
- Previous experience managing and developing junior members of staff
- Methodical approach to work
- Ability to take initiative and respond quickly to change
