Sophia Webster Opens New Boutique

After opening her first store on Mount Street in 2016, Sophia Webster has chosen Sloane Avenue as the home for her second boutique. Filled with décor that could only be picked out by Webster’s quirky eye, the 1,500 square-feet space is a shoe lovers paradise. "I wanted to do it all in-house so I could be involved in all aspects," she says. "I loved selecting the bespoke furniture and one-off vintage pieces. My favourite is our handblown flamingo chandelier - I'd originally made it for our Mount Street store, but it was too big when it arrived. Now it's found a home here."

On the ground floor at 86 Sloane Avenue, shoppers will find the latest styles from the British designer’s stunning footwear collection, including in-store exclusives. Downstairs is where the true excitement begins; turning the basement into a new concept, you will find a space that looks to host by-appointment beauty treatments (a nail bar and blow dry salon) and bridal appointments. "We want to be here for the client," she says. "From the initial thought process behind a design to how she feels when she first steps out in our shoes, I want it to be memorable and seamless from start to finish. I want us to host bridal parties, bridesmaid fittings, VIP shopping evenings and even mother and daughter shopping days."

Although there is almost a vintage feel to the classic pink boutique, Webster wanted her new store to reflect the digitally led future that her brand thrives on. "Almost 50 percent of sales at our Mount Street boutique are now taken online, but I think the intimate experience of coming to the shop and trying on our products is just as important." To allow customers the perfect holistic experience, Webster has installed iPads on the ground floor so that customers can order anything unavailable in-store. "From the nail bar to the blow-dry salon, it's all about creating an experience."
